NYPD Cop Charged With Rape Previously Accused Of Brutality

Latest

New York City cop Michael Pena was indicted yesterday on charges that he abducted and raped a schoolteacher in upper Manhattan while armed. His lawyers said, “Whatever happened, there was certainly no intent on the part of Michael Pena to hurt anybody. There was no intent to sexually abuse anybody.” In that case! Meanwhile, The New York Post has early word that Pena previously cost the city $25,000, apparently for a settlement, for a 2009 assault and battery of a man, Anthony Mosley, that also involved a “vicious body-cavity search” that, in the words of the lawsuit, “beyond all possible bounds of decency.” Details are scant, except for a statement by an NYPD spokesman: “There was no admission of wrongdoing.”
