New Roger Ailes Movie Will Star Charlize Theron As Megyn Kelly

Latest

It’s been two years since Roger Ailes resigned as Fox News Chairman and CEO in the wake of a slew of sexual misconduct allegations, and exactly one year since he shuffled loose his rank mortal coil. Now, Annapurna Pictures is moving forward with its plans for a film. About time.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the forthcoming movie will star Charlize Theron as Megyn Kelly, who along with Gretchen Carlson was among the high-profile Fox employees to accuse Ailes of harassment, leading to his ouster.

Directed by Jay Roach and written by Charles Randolph, the project is described as an “ensemble pic”—in addition to Kelly, it’s also likely to include portrayals of Ailes, Carlson, Greta Van Susteren, Rupert Murdoch and Bill O’Reilly. Since it seems that the only casting really set in stone is Theron (who’s also listed as a producer), allow me to contribute my two cents on the rest:

Rupert Murdoch: Blobfish

Roger Ailes: A month-old ham strapped to an oil drum

Greta Van Susteren: Uma Thurman

Gretchen Carlson: Mira Sorvino

Bill O’Reilly: Ashley Judd

Word of this movie has been circulating since 2016; now that the casting is complete, filming should be underway any day now. Can’t wait.
