Last month, Zendaya took to Instagram to criticize Modeliste magazine for heavily Photoshopping the spread she did for them. “[I] was shocked when I found my 19-year-old hips and torso quite manipulated,” she wrote in the caption. The photos she shared showed that the magazine had made her hips, waist and thighs much slimmer, as well as altered her skin color.

Now the magazine has apologized to Zendaya and released even more photographs showing the extent of the Photoshopping. In one photograph, Zendaya poses in a white swimsuit and, again, Modeliste slimmed her stomach, waist, and thighs. All of which seems completely unnecessary. Here’s the before and after they released:

Per Zendaya’s request, Modeliste has since removed the Photoshopped images from their website.

I think what really alarms me from this is that she’s already “acceptably” skinny in the original photos. And the degree to which they Photoshopped her is actually a really shitty job—it just looks like they squished the “fat” parts of the image in, without considering how that would warp the rest of the image.
