Breaking news reports from Paris are indicating that multiple people have been injured and killed in what appears to have been a simultaneous attack on a restaurant, an area near a stadium, and a concert hall.
Agence France Presse is reporting hostages have been taken at the concert hall, and that at least 18 people are believed to be dead, according to police:
Liberation reports the shooting in the restaurant in the tenth arrondissement broke out at the same time as three explosions near the Stade de France, the stadium where France is playing Germany in a soccer match today. President Francois Hollande was in attendance. He’s been moved to a secure location.
There’s no more concrete information on this event right now.
Update, 5:08 p.m.:
Eagles of Death Metal were playing at the concert venue where the hostages were reportedly taken. Police are saying roughly 60 hostages are being held.
Update, 5:18 p.m.
According to Reuters, French media is now estimating the number of people killed at 30. Estimates of the hostages taken are ranging from 60 to 100.
