Hillary Clinton’s mom Dorothy Rodham, who died yesterday at the age of 92, was frequently by her daughter’s side throughout her political career (and Bill’s). Clinton cites Rodham as a major influence, and the photos that follow highlight her role in her daughter’s very public life.

Here’s Rodham with Hillary in their New York hotel room during the 1992 Democratic National Convention, where Bill received the presidential nomination.
