Welcome to Megyn Kelly Today, Today, a daily column in which we will share the most memorable things that happened on Megyn Kelly Today every morning until we are no longer able to watch Megyn Kelly Today without feeling like there will be no tomorrow.
- Megyn Kelly walked onstage in a blue skirt and white top.
- Megyn Kelly said she was “thrilled” to have her audience here today.
- Megyn Kelly began the show with a discussion of Capitol Hill’s “sexual harassment problem.”
- Megyn Kelly rolled tape of “female lawmakers speaking up” about sexual harassment.
- Megyn Kelly welcomed Rep. Barbara Comstock, Katherine Cichy, and Rebecca Weir to speak about their experiences with harassment on Capital Hill. (You can watch the full segment here.)
- Megyn Kelly said, “I hope what we’re doing here is providing a light for men out there... If you wanna pay a compliment to a woman in the office, which I feel is already shaky territory, I feel like, ‘You look nice’ is solid. You cross over into ‘hot’? Less solid.”
- Megyn Kelly thanked the three women for joining her on the show and cut to commercial.
- Megyn Kelly rolled tape of her interview with Joely Fisher, Carrie Fisher’s half-sister, to the stage.
- Bobby Finger noticed that the footage was from yesterday—as though the segment was recorded after her live show for time.
- Turns out Joely Fisher was there to promote a book called Growing Up Fisher.
- Joely Fisher said she found out about Carrie Fisher’s heart attack from Harvey Levin of TMZ. (See the Clip of the Day.)
- Bobby Finger said, “To have Harvey Levin in any way intertwined with the story of a loved one’s death sounds truly horrific.”
- Joely Fisher discussed headlines about her “watching her father [Eddie Fisher] shoot up when she was a toddler.”
- Joely Fisher said, “Here’s the deal. In the book, I say my first experience with drug use was as a toddler. I was in the room with my father. I was a very young girl... The reason I know it and the reason I have a vivid memory of it is because there was a letter I found and it was eight pages on legal paper and it was the most of my father’s handwriting that I had ever held. And it was an apology that I later accepted. So the story isn’t about the scandal of drugs and my father. The story is that we found each other and saved each other in a deeper and more complex way later in life.”
- Megyn Kelly said, “it’s a beautiful book. Thank you for being so honest with it.”
- Megyn Kelly cut to commercial.
- Megyn Kelly welcomed previous Megyn Kelly guest, style expert Chassie Post, to the stage to give some last-minute Thanksgiving decor tips.
- Chassie Post really overdid it.
- Chassie Post said, “Wreaths! They’re not just for Christmas!”
- Chassie Post told us to make this:
