Megyn Kelly Insists Santa Claus and Jesus Are White Because Duh

Fox News’ Megyn Kelly is pretty annoyed about Slate writer Aisha Harris’ thoughtful essay “Santa Claus Should Not Be a White Man Anymore.” Her counter argument? Santa Claus — a fantasy person who doesn’t actually exist — should be a white man because displaying him as otherwise would be an insult to his (again, fictional) legacy.

“Just because it makes you feel uncomfortable doesn’t mean it has to change,” Kelly said. “I mean, Jesus was a white man, too — he was a historical figure. That’s a verifiable fact.”

Sorry, how verifiable is that, Megyn? Anyway, please continue with whatever stupid thing you’re about to say.

“But my point is how do you just revise it, you know, in the middle of the legacy — of the story — and change Santa from white to black,” the incredulous host asked.

Well, actually, stories get revised all the time to better fit in with someone’s world view — just look what Fox News has done with Benghazi. Besides, Santa Claus already looks different depending on what culture’s representing him so Kelly’s idiotic argument isn’t so much the defense of a legacy as much as it’s misinformed, white supremacist nonsense.

Tune in tonight when Kelly will attempt to prove that the Easter Bunny, Smaug from the Hobbit and Hoke Colburn from Driving Miss Daisy are also all white.
