Real Housewife LuAnn de Lesseps and Real Housewife Martha Stewart both recently attended a dinner at the Baccarat Hotel held by the Qatari ambassador to the U.S., and let’s be real, no one knows how to stir up drama like Mohammed Jaham Al Kuwari!
According to Page Six, Countess LuAnn—full disclosure, we are best friends—was in the middle of getting a very important invitation to Qatar when Martha said some rude and accurate things about the Real Housewives:
“He said he knew that she was on a TV show and that he would love to be on it, and Stewart leaned in and whispered, ‘You don’t want to do that. It’s lowbrow, very B-list,’ ” a source told me.
The countess — battle-hardened from her years on “The Real Housewives of New York City” — said loudly, “Martha, I can hear you.”
Oh shit! Oh shit!
The doyenne of domesticity tried to backtrack, saying she was only kidding, but de Lesseps said, “Should I tell him about your shady past?”
Looks like someone forgot the girl code! Also, what shady past, shh, no one remembers that, Martha Stewart has so much money and is friends with Blake Lively.
Stewart confirmed with Page Six that this happened, but that there was a “sense of humor” involved. Unfortunately, a camera crew was not, so we will never be able to enjoy this beautiful, obscenely awkward exchange up close. C’est la vie.
