Marilyn Monroe's First Photo Shoot

Latest

The following photographs feature a teenage (and brunette!) Norma Jean Dougherty in her very first modeling session. Shot by Joseph Jasgur in 1946, the rare photos capture the future Marilyn Monroe looking like a classic all-American girl, pre-bombshell.

The photos have come into the public eye now that a bankruptcy judge in Florida has ruled that Jasgur’s negatives and image copyrights must be sold to settle the photographer’s debts. (The photographs will go up for auction in December.) Among the documents is a signed model release form saying she was 21 years of age, even though she was just 19. Marilyn Monroe wouldn’t let a little thing like age hold her back, now would she?
