Lupita Nyong'o's Oscar Acceptance Speech Will Move You

Latest

THANK ALL THINGS GOOD AND LUPITA, WE CAN FINALLY STOP HOLDING OUR BREATH. The show-stopping Ms. Nyong’o has won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her role as Patsey in 12 Years a Slave. Unsurprisingly, her speech was graceful, heartfelt and charming. Particularly moving was her recognition of the real life Patsey and Solomon Northup, the pair on whom the movie was based.

Less moving (but exciting all the same) was Liza Minnelli somehow forcing her way into Lupita’s moment. What else can you expect from Liza with a Z?
