LuAnn de Lesseps Forgives Her Fiancé for Frenching an Ex the Night Before Their Engagement Party

In an interview with People, LuAnn de Lesseps of Real Housewives of New York has publicly forgiven her fiancé Tom D’Agostino (not of the grocery D’Agostinos) for making out with another woman at the bar of the Regency Hotel on the night before their engagement party. Aw! True love (for attention) really does conquer all!

According to the Countess, she and D’Agostino argued before leaving for their engagement celebration in Palm Beach, leading him to go out and get some strange (like all good partners do):

“I’m not going to let a stupid kiss ruin the rest of my life,” she tells People. “He screwed up. What he did was wrong. But this wasn’t premeditated. It wasn’t an affair. It was a mistake. He was upset with me. It was a stupid retaliation of some sort. He did the wrong thing, and he totally recognizes that. I know in my heart of hearts that he loves me.”

Tom’s “mistake” was exposed by fellow Housewife Bethenny Frankel during a three-part episode of RHONY that concludes Wednesday night. From the looks of the reunion trailer, LuAnn chooses to be mad at Bethenny rather than her fiancé, probably because she’s dead-set on getting married to the love of her life, The Press.

Tom, meanwhile, is apologetic, telling the People that he’s ashamed for hurting his #1 cash cow—er—LuAnn.

“If I could take it back, I would,” he says. “I deeply regret the mistakes I’ve made, and most of all hate the way it hurt LuAnn.”
