Libyan Rape Victim Iman Al-Obeidi Is Now In The U.S.

Iman al-Obeidi is finally in the United States two months after she was deported back to Libya and began fighting to leave the country again. Obeidi spent 54 days in a U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees facility in Romania and arrived in New York last Wednesday. She then took a flight to the undisclosed location that will be her new home. In a conversation with a CNN producer, she thanked the U.S. government and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for helping her leave Libya and said she’s excited and happy to be here. However, she’s decided not to give interviews for the time being.
