On Monday, Jones tweeted that she “just heard” Gabby was getting attacked by people on social media, likely referring to this latest bout of hate, since Douglas has been getting harassed about things like her hair style since winning gold in the 2012 Olympics (plus Jones is likely pretty distracted down in Rio):

And it appears to have made a huge difference to Gabby Douglas, who has said of public criticism, “When they talk about my hair or me not putting my hand on my heart or me being very salty in the stands, they’re really criticizing me, and it doesn’t really feel good.
