Lena Dunham and Taylor Swift Are Quickly Becoming BFFs, Obviously

Latest

Two apparently disparate entertainment universes collided (happily, over sandwiches) on Memorial Day when Lena Dunham met Taylor Swift for lunch in Rhode Island. A hazy cellphone picture of the back of their heads revealed that the two young women are indeed becoming inseparable best friends, and need only complete the sacred Hollywood blood-exchange ritual to become what people in the comic book racket call a “duo.”

According to Life & Style, the Lena-Taylor pow-pow-power lunch might even have been an extended Memorial Day weekend romp — Swift’s touring partner Ed Sheeran was present, along with Dunham’s boyfriend, Jack Antonoff. Couple all this with things that Dunham said about how much she adores Taylor Swift —

I feel like the way she uses autobiography in her work and the way she calls out guys who have, you know, fronted on her before, but at the same time there is something sort of affectionate and non-judgmental about her music that I appreciate.

— and all the things Swift said about how much she adores Lena Dunham —

I’ve always been really blown away by how she’s so young – she’s in her mid 20s – and she does all these things. She creates so much. When I found out she listens to my music, it absolutely floored me. It made my day, honestly.

— and it’s clear that the two are inseparable, just like Tod and Copper. Except without the horrifying bear confrontation. It’s only a matter of time before Taylor Swift and Lena Dunham perform “Let’s Duet” at a Rockefeller Center Christmas special. With Muppets.
