Kerry Washington to Star In HBO Anita Hill Film

Latest

Kerry Washington will play Anita Hill—the woman who accused U.S. Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas of sexual harassment in 1991 which brought the issue of workplace harassment to national attention.

In an exclusive, The Hollywood Reporter reveals that the film, called Confirmation, will air on HBO and will focus on Hill’s historic hearings where she detailed the sexual harassment she experienced from Justice Thomas’ while working as his assistant.

Erin Brockovich writer Susannah Grant will write the script and executive produce.

Anita Hill is currently a professor of social policy, law and women’s studies at Brandeis. A documentary on the hearings premiered at Sundance in 2013 and was released last spring.

No word yet on whether or not the film will include that time Clarence Thomas‘ wife Virginia left a completely insane message for Anita Hill demanding that she apologize for being sexually harassed by Justice Thomas.
