Kellyanne Conway, counselor to the president went on Fox News on Thursday to discuss Roy Moore’s and his alleged predilection for teen girls and Trump’s silence on the subject. (Even Fox News is wondering why Donald Trump hasn’t said anything about Moore. Conway’s answer was that he was in Asia. Trump is busy in Asia! It’s a huge continent.) She took the opportunity to say that the discussion around Moore and sexual assault, more broadly, was very important, and by the way, it was she, Kellyanne Conway, who first told us all that in October 2016. Remember?:
But at the same time, I would like to say that I was the first person in the administration last Thursday when this news broke, I happened to be interviewed on a different network at the time, to come out against conduct as it was described, and I went a step further. I said—and I tried to make this an issue over a year ago on October 9th, 2016, when I talked about maybe when I was younger and prettier, folks on Capitol Hill behaving in such a way that we should take a look at it fresh—and I’m so glad that women on the left, particularly on Capitol Hill are now coming forward and now want to have hearings and are swearing under oath and getting people to come forward. That’s great. I tried to do it 13 months ago, nobody wanted to listen to me because of the campaign I was managing. This is an important topic, but in terms of this particular issue and this particular Senate race, I will not get ahead of the President and anything he wishes to add.
Wait, what was going on in October of 2016? Oh right. Conway was on MSNBC talking to Chris Matthews because her boss, our current president, was caught on tape saying he grabs women’s genitals for funsies. Conway wasn’t condemning him, of course; she was saying that she used to get harassed by other, unspecified legislators, who were not running for president or giving her a paycheck.
“I would talk to some of the members of Congress out there,” she said at the time. “When I was younger and prettier, them rubbing up against girls, sticking their tongues down women’s throats uninvited who didn’t like it.”
That sounds terrible, and neither Conway nor anyone else should be subjected to unwanted touching or harassment. But replace “tongues” with “fingers” and “throats” with “pussy” and Conway is describing the fetid collection of used butt wipes held together by a cheap suit that is Donald Trump. But she wasn’t It’s the other guys. Not Roy Moore either, just, some guys.
