Kansas Governor and Secretary of Health and Human Services nominee Kathleen Sebelius signed into law today a bill requiring that women be able to see ultrasounds or hear fetal heartbeats before their abortions. [NY Times]
Forgive me if I'm missing the obvious, but I don't really get the point of this. It seems to be affecting the doctors not the patients. Are there doctors out there who are refusing to show ultrasound pictures to women who request them?
While it sounds bad, it seems like this actually changes nothing.
