Juliana Huxtable cannot be tamed. A writer, performer, DJ, visual artist, and fashion model, her work covers a spectrum of subjects ranging from race and gender to sexuality and futurism. But don’t expect her to pick a lane anytime soon.

“I have things that I want to say or navigate or propose or provoke,” Huxtable told Jezebel. “And art, to me, is that act and it can sort of manifest in any way.”

Huxtable has become a fixture in New York City’s nightlife scene, most notably for hosting the inclusive dance party, Shock Value.
