It's such a shame women feel the need to say everthing is sunshine and rainbows with newborns. For a lot of us, even when it's "just" the baby blues and not PPD, it just plain sucks sometimes. It's a lot of work, it's hard work, it's exhausting work, and it's work that isn't appreciated by "the boss" (in that newborns don't smile or laugh).

When people ask how life is with teenyMJ, and I say, "Well, he's great, but it's exhuasting and hard and sometimes very lonely," I get a Look that says You Are Awful to Say Anything Negative.

And I FEEL guilty about sometimes feeling overwhelmed and sad about my loss of independence.

I imagine most women feel this way... and very few talk about it.
