Bill Gaytten presented his spring 2014 collection for John Galliano at Paris Fashion Week, and it's like a beautiful vision from a very glamourous cartoon set in the future: lots of neons and pastels, oversized embellishments, and exaggerated silhouettes.
The long gowns, dripping organza and intricately detailed, elevated the collection into the realm of refined glamour, and Gaytten's brighter, shorter pieces were eye-catching and bold — the tight, metallic belts add a futuristic touch. In addition, the perforated checkerboard print featured in several of the looks is an especially smart idea.
I think the shoes may be the best part of this collection — they're fun and sort of lurid and experimental without trying too hard. The horrible bike helmet-inspired hats are definitely the worst.
