Inspired by Joan Collins dissing Jennifer Aniston, The Telegraph asked Collins to share her thoughts on a handful of other female stars. Unsurprisingly, Joan doesn't subscribe to that adage about not having anything nice to say.

On Gwyneth Paltrow: "Is she the one who called her grandmother a rude word on air? I thought that was pretty shocking."

On Kiera Knightley: "Well, she's thin."

On Carey Mulligan: "I don't want to comment on Carey Mulligan ... I can't believe she's playing Eliza Doolittle in a new movie."

On Kate Winslet: [When shown a photo from the Venice Film Festival] "Oh, that's a dreadful dress. The worst dress. And ghastly shoes and an awful hairstyle. I'm sorry."

On Adele: "She's a very good singer, very, very talented, but she has a terrible hairpiece."

On Kate Moss: "OK, but she's not Linda Evangelista in my mind"

On Victoria Beckham: "Oh I love Victoria Beckham. You've finally found someone I like."

This was the "dreadful dress. The worst dress. And ghastly shoes and an awful hairstyle Joan laments above. It pains me to observe that she might be a little bit right. It is also somewhat uncomfortable for me to note that Winslet is there in support of Carnage, the film she did for Roman Polanski. In that dress. Double whammy.

ETA: Apparently the dress is by Victoria Beckham. Some savoury irony there, one feels.
