Jennifer Garner has responded to a tweet that paired a video from the 2018 Oscars ceremony of her abruptly stopping her applause with the caption, “What realization did Jennifer Garner just come to?” This is a big deal because, in a way, she’s responding directly to me, an idiot.
On Sunday night I tweeted this [admittedly terrible] cell phone video of my television:
And Monday night, Garner shared these videos on her Instagram story:
Her three “realizations” were:
“Congrats to Shape of Water! Maybe I should date a fish?”
“Hey Jimmy Kimmel, what’s in your wallet? Wait where’s my wallet?”
“Can’t wait to work with Lena Dunham! Wait did I sign a nudity waiver?”
Allow me to explain these “jokes”: The first is a reference to the night’s big winner The Shape of Water, which is about a woman who dates a fish. The second is a reference to her most iconic role, that of Capital One spokesperson. And the third is a reference to her upcoming HBO series Camping, created by Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner.
Isn’t that fun? I think that’s fun. Jennifer Garner seems fun.
