Iggy Azalea, beleaguered pop star cum rapper, has taken quite the tumble from her peak—the summer of 2014, when “Fancy” could be heard out of car windows and in the aisles of your local drugstore while searching for paper towels and Drano.

In September, Jezebel senior staff writer Clover Hope chronicled Iggy’s career from nascent rapper to occasional punchline.

She joined me on this week’s episode of DirtCast to speak about the quest for authenticity in rap and the oftentimes arduous process that goes into making a star. And, as a special treat, Big Time Dicks co-host Joanna Rothkopf joined us to talk about a big time dick in Hollywood: Harvey Weinstein.

DirtCast can be found on Apple Podcasts, Stitcher, Spotify, Google Play, and iHeart Media.

Our show is produced by Levi Sharpe with editorial oversight by Kate Dries. Mandana Mofidi is our Executive Director of Audio. Our theme music is by Stuart Wood. This episode was mixed by Jamie Collazzo. Listen to our politics podcast, Big Time Dicks, here.
