Hot Pink, Grecian Goddesses and Plenty of Diversity at the 2016 SAG Awards
EntertainmentLeonardo DiCaprio gazed knowingly (as if he knows something), Laverne Cox brought her charm, and the most unattractive couple on the planet threw their love in everyone’s faces at the “diverse” SAG Awards on Saturday night. More Grecian looks and ill-fitting prom gowns below.
Amy Poehler looks just fine in a dramatic scoop neckline, and Eva Longoria is a seaweed goddess. I can’t decide if it’s necessarily a bad thing. Sarah Silverman wore this nude gown with a ruffly mermaid tail.
Christina Ricci’s regal ice skater get-up by Christopher Kane is cool. Viola Davis looks divine in earth-toned Zac Posen, despite the wrinkly fabric. As usual, Queen Latifah is worthy of a Yas Queen.
Alicia Vikander’s sequined Louis Vuitton gown was a definite standout in a positive way. I’m mostly loving Kristen Wiig’s two-piece, even though the top looks like a bib tacked onto it.
Laverne Cox in this Grecian (maroon? marsala?) Prabal Gurung is enviable.
The Orange Is the New Black cast mostly delivered in plunging necklines, white and sparkles.
OITNB’s Diane Guerrero and Adrienne C. Moore chose gowns that pop. Abigail Savage could teach the dudes here how to not be boring in menswear.
Speaking of men, Mr. Robot star Rami Malek practiced his red carpet stance beforehand, while Joe Manganiello and Leonardo DiCaprio assumed the standard stoic position because guys don’t know how to pose.
A few handbags from Viola Davis, Naomi Watts and Uzo Aduba.
