Remember how Rihanna shot a video in a field in Ireland? And frolicked half-naked? And the farmer who owned the field gave her a talking-to? Well, here’s the clip. “We Found Love” starts with a bizarre English-accented voice-over and moves at break-neck speed. Scorching hot boxer/model Dudley O’Shaughnessy plays her manfriend, and their relationship is volatile. Fun, happy times dissolve into booze, drugs, sex, home-tattooing and intense arguments — including one that takes place in a car (reminiscent of the incident with Chris Brown). The thing unfurls like a promo for Skins, with the bleak images of an economically depressed European town providing the backdrop for young, toxic love. Rihanna also vomits up a ribbon. It’s a pretty good depiction of a sick can’t-live-with-’em-can’t-live-without-’em relationship, and might make you thank your lucky stars you’re not with you know who anymore.
