Here Are Some Very Good Child Jump-Ropers Breaking a Guinness World Record

Latest

Please stop what you’re doing and watch these fourteen children set a new very specific Guinness World Record for the most skips over a single rope in one minute by a team.

The children in question are 14 elementary school students from Fuji Municipal Harada Elementary School in Japan and the record they set is an incredible 225 skips per minute. According to NPR, the children managed to break the record set by their rivals at Hiromi Elementary School, who managed to clock 217 skips in one minute in 2013.

As a grown woman who would be hard-pressed to skip rope even two times in a row, the precision with which these small children run is admirable. Note the yelling—steady, forceful, a quiet motivator, or perhaps the one thing that keeps them on beat? I’m also embarrassed to admit that I had to watch this three times to figure out that it wasn’t an entire fourth grade class skipping over the ropes but jut 14 children running with precision, driven by the urge to beat their rivals.

I love this video! Watch it. Maybe you will too!!
