Recently a woman declared that Gwyneth Paltrow saved her life on 9/11 when she nearly ran her over in her SUV. Now Gwyneth has shared her recollections of that fateful run in with a jaywalker. Gwyneth says that on her way home from an early yoga session on 9/11, “a girl was jaywalking across the street and we kind of both stopped at the same time and waited a really long time.” They did “this stop-start thing” then laughed, and the woman went on her way. This year she sent Gwyneth a letter saying she never made it to her job at the World Trade Center because of the incident. “It was an extraordinary story and all I could think about is all of the people who had experiences like that that day, but aren’t able to reach out because it wasn’t a recognizable person,” says Gwyneth. “She saw it was me so she was able to get me a message, but I think a lot of fates were changed that day obviously and I am very humbly happy to be a part in her story.” [Reuters]
