George Clooney Claims Photos of His Twins Were Taken 'Illegally,' Will Sue the Tabloid Responsible

Just hours after French tabloid Voici published the first blurry photos of George and Amal’s twins on the cover of their latest issue, Monsieur Clooney himself has revealed he intends to prosecute the publication for printing what he claims were “illegally” obtained photos.

Clooney’s statement was released by TMZ Friday morning, and reads:

“Over the last week photographers from Voici magazine scaled our fence, climbed our tree and illegally took pictures of our infants inside our home. Make no mistake—the photographers, the agency and the magazine will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. The safety of our children demands it.”

The photographs were taken at Clooney’s private residence on Lake Como in Italy, a country that prohibits the press from taking “photos of people or objects hidden from normal visibility.” Clooney, who has a long history of battling the paparazzi, famously “secured two protection orders” which prevented photographers from approaching the same residence back in 2014.
