Participating artists receive free profile pages and are eligible to have their work featured on Gawker Media sites and included in Gawker Artists exhibitions. But what’s that you say? You’re not an artist, yet you want your personal site to look as pretty as ours? By becoming an exhibitor, fans can show Gawker Artists’ images on their own sites. All participating exhibitors are listed on Gawker Artists and are eligible to have their news published in the Gawker Artists Newsletter. What’s more, the Art@Gawker rotating series takes work from some of our favorite Gawker Artists and hangs it right on the walls of Gawker HQ. Our current exhibit …In With the New, examines the evolution of communication via appropriated images, refigured media personalities (Gawker Overlord, Nick Denton, certainly isn’t safe, nor are any of the 50 news anchors highlighted in Richard Blakeley’s O-Face video) and takes a lighthearted look at what goes on in a world full of retumbld, tweetable, viral imagery.

And as if that’s wasn’t enough to convince you, rest assured that we are also dedicated to giving back to New York’s cultural community. Most recently, Gawker Artists, The Eames Foundation, Eames Office and Herman Miller have teamed up with the Public Works Department of New York to present an online auction featuring a unique collection of iconic Eames® Molded Plywood Chairs as re-imagined by some of today’s most celebrated graffiti and street artists. As of yesterday, the limited edition “Eames Inspiration” collection will be on display in the windows of Barneys New York and auctioned online to benefit OPERATION DESIGN, a creative mentorship program that organizes architects, artists and related professionals to work with New York City public school students to create motivating and inspiring projects.
