Everyone’s favorite gap-toothed model Lindsey Wixson (sorry Lara Stone and Georgia Jagger) is retiring at the ripe ol’ age of 23.

“To all my fashion fans, I am sad to inform you that my injury has put me in a position to retire from this high heel business,” she wrote in an Instagram caption, referring to a tear in her tendon. “This industry has brought me so much and I am grateful for the lessons I have learned. Now more than ever I feel it is important to listen to my body and the changing times of this industry and peacefully try to move on.”

Wixson was first spotted by Steven Meisel when she was just 15 years old, and would go on to walk for designers like John Galliano, Alexander McQueen, Versace and more. So, in model years, she’s had a pretty long career! And Wilson already has a back-up plan now that she’s done with modeling: a fulfilling career in making pottery!

Ah, must be nice, to retire in your early 20s to a future in ceramics.
