Ex-Cheerleader and Healthy Living Author Pleads Guilty to Rape of 15-Year-Old Boy
LatestMolly Shattuck, a former cheerleader for the Baltimore Ravens, has pleaded guilty to raping an underage boy.
Shattuck, who also authored a book called Vibrant Living, will serve every other weekend in a probation center for two years. As part of her sentence, she will have to undergo therapy and sex disorder counseling, The Guardian reports. Shattuck cannot have contact with people who are younger than the age of 18, aside from her three children, and will also have to register as a sex offender in the state of Delaware. She was also ordered to pay $10,650 in restitution to the victim’s family.
The parents of the victim believe that Shattuck’s sentence is too light. “What she did to my son is heinous. The fact that she paraded her pedophilia in front of her own son is even more disturbing,” the victim’s mother said. “Any adult who rapes a child deserves to be in prison. Please hold her accountable.”
Shattuck met the 15-year-old after seeing his photos on Instagram in May 2014. She had her own son contact the boy with a message that said, “Call my mom. She thinks you’re hot.” Physical contact between Shattuck and the teenager began to occur when she picked him up after summer school which progressed into oral sex during a Labor Day weekend at a vacation rental home. Shattuck’s children and their friends were also staying at the rental.
“I take full responsibility for what I did. I never, ever, ever intended, obviously, to hurt anybody,” said Shattuck. “I will spend the rest of my life making this right.”
