Everybody Scream: Here Are the Stars of the All-Female Ghostbusters

We are satisfied. While McCarthy had long been considered for the lead role, the rest of the cast was still being solidified. According to The Hollywood Reporter:

Negotiations are ongoing but the quartet are expected to sign on as the specter-seeking, poltergeist-punishing and phantom-phollowing foursome in the reboot, which is eyeing a summer shoot in New York.

Seriously. I would’ve liked to see one other woman of color, but this is an amazing (SNL-heavy) lineup, nonetheless. Recall: Ghostbusters was originally supposed to be a reboot starring the original actors, including Dan Aykroyd, but the producers couldn’t get Bill Murray to sign on. The whole project was re-envisioned for a cast of all women with Bridesmaid‘s Paul Feig directing. He’s set it in stone with this tweet.
