Eve Is Joining The Talk As a Co-Host

I have actively chosen not to watch The Talk because it’s called The Talk and because it’s just The View on a different network, but since Eve has signed on as a co-host, I may have to relent.

The rapper who helped me discover my rough and rugged side has been chosen to fill the void left by Aisha Tyler, who exited the show last season to return to acting. Eve joins the panel with Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Julie Chen, and Sheryl Underwood. It’s the type of career turn that’s both surprising and makes total sense.

Eve told Deadline, “I think what I’m looking forward to the most is showcasing my personality and who I am now as a woman. In my career, people know me from my music and I have done certain things in entertainment, but this is a different avenue for me.”

According to sources, per Variety, there were “hundreds of names” in contention, but after a week-long test run, Eve says she “felt the energy,” and producers felt it back. While the daytime TV reinvention will be an adjustment, Eve says it won’t involve her censoring herself—“I’m just in a place in my life where I was looking for a platform to express myself,” she says.
