Elisabeth Moss’ Fruit Has Been Blessed!

Blessed be! On Tuesday night, Elisabeth Moss revealed on Jimmy Kimmel Live! she’s pregnant with her first child, is feeling “not bad,” and can’t wait to start using her kid to get out of things—which is the only reason I, personally, can think of for having a child.

“Are you pregnant or just an incredibly committed method actor?” Jimmy Kimmel asked Moss as she walked onto the set. Moss, who’s 41, didn’t reveal how far along she is but she is definitely along! “I’ve been really lucky, it’s been going really well,” she said before asking Kimmel if he had any advice for her.

“I will tell you, my wife got great advice from Bill Murray when she was pregnant,” he said. “Bring Christmas lights to hang [in the delivery room] or beads of some kind,” as well as nightlights and battery-powered candles. “Because the lighting is terrible in the room. It’s Walmart-style lighting for this blessed event that’s going to happen and you don’t want that.”

Moss, who appeared on Kimmel to promote her new series The Veil, also said that people are so mad that The Handmaid’s Tale isn’t back yet. (They start filming the sixth and final season this summer.) “Have you started blaming this on child?” Kimmel asked. “I can’t wait to start doing that,” she said to which Jimmy replied, “You can do it now, you don’t have to wait.” So you can thank Kimmel I guess if you have any upcoming plans with Moss and she cancels them.

But many congrats to Moss! It’s unclear if she’s with anyone and I have all the more respect for her for keeping that part of her private life super private.

“I do want to be a mother,” Moss told Marie Clarie UK in 2018. “I like the idea of passing on what my mother passed on to me. It’s not for everybody, and I didn’t know if it was going to be for me, but lately, I think it is. I have no idea how I want to do it though or what the plan is.” Planning is hard so, truly, an even bigger congrats to Moss for seemingly making a plan and following through!
