Do you ever have a moment that takes you so far out of your own sanity that you begin to question if this little journey around the sun called life is even real? Well, Donald Trump is fighting with the Pope, so, there you go. Enjoy the trip.
Pope Francis was asked about Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s faith recently. Understandably, the Pope had his doubts, telling reporters that Trump isn’t a Christian, citing his desire to build a wall along the Mexican border and deport immigrants.
According to the New York Times, Pope Francis added: “A person who thinks only about building walls, wherever they may be, and not building bridges, is not Christian.”

Because he’s a toddler in a wig with no impulse control, Donald Trump swiftly released a statement and then read it out loud this morning in case we needed the full absurdity of this squabble to play out in real time.
Trump argues that the Vatican is the “ultimate trophy” of ISIS and the only thing that will keep ISIS from, I don’t know, kidnapping the Pope, is Donald J. Trump sitting in the Oval Office.
He goes on to add that a religious leader questioning a person’s faith is “disgraceful,” which, I dunno, sort of seems like something within the purview of the leader of the largest church in the largest religion in the world.
In a move that I dread will actually work out well for him, Trump’s statement ends with some gibberish and an overuse of the word “especially.”
No leader, especially a religious leader, should have the right to question another man’s religion or faith. They are using the Pope as a pawn and they should be ashamed of themselves for doing so, especially when so many lives are involved and when illegal immigration is so rampant.
