For the second year in a row, Jezebel is going to Politicon, a two-day “unconventional political convention” that will bring Trump lovers, haters, and skeptics alike to the arid desert city of Pasadena to analyze, mock, and laugh-cry at the current state of US politics.
I regret to inform you that Big Time Dicks co-hosts Joanna Rothkopf and I will not be there in Mitch McConnell or Steve Bannon cosplay. We will, however, be moderating a panel called How to Handle the Dicks: Empathy and Objectivity in the Age of Trump, in which we’ll talk to comedian and former Nightly Show correspondent Grace Parra, immigrant rights advocate Julissa Arce, and CNN political commentator Sally Kohn about how they navigate difficult political conversations at home, at work, and in their families.
Other guests at the Con include CNN’s Jake Tapper, comedian Anthony Atamaniuk, and Ann Coulter. If I had to make any predictions about the weekend, I would guess that we will all return home as best friends.
If you want to witness the magic, going down on Saturday, July 29 and Sunday, July 30, buy your tickets here.
