Christina Aguilera Joins Drag Race Megastars For Surprise NYFW Performance

Latest

Christina Aguilera artfully AAAAHHHEEEEHUUGGHHHHOOOOOH HHOOOOO’d her way through a surprise performance at Opening Ceremony’s New York fashion week show Sunday night, flanked by several stars of Ru Paul’s Drag Race.

Billboard reports that Aguilera was joined by Sasha Velour, Jiggly Caliente, Hungry, Shea Coulee, Miss Fame, West Dakota and “her drag doppleganger Farrah Moan” while she sang “Fall in Line,” her latest single featuring Demi Lovato. Christina’s reveal certainly surprised the audience, who clearly weren’t expecting to be serenaded by Aguilera’s dulcet wails or mesmerized by her amazingly sparkly jumpsuit.

Drag Race season 9 winner Sasha Velour collaborated with Opening Ceremony’s Humberto Leon and Carol Lim on everything from lighting, to script, to casting in an attempt to create a vision of a more inclusive future.

From Billboard:

Velour kicked off the evening by explaining that over 40 LGBTQ models and performers would share the stage for the fashion show. “I hope this is what the future looks like,” she exclaimed to the audience — which included Nicki Minaj, Troye Sivan, Hayley Kiyoko and Kim Petras. “Not just on your stages or on your screens, but every day in your life, being uplifted just like this — belonging just like everyone else and looking fucking fabulous.”

And Aguilera is no stranger to the Drag Race universe: She was a special guest judge and surprised her drag look-a-like Farah Moan for the season 10 premiere.

But onto more important matters: Where can I cop a knock-off of Xtina’s sparkly ass jumpsuit? Seriously.
