Chris Christie's Unending Humiliations Continue as Trump Takes Transition Team Leadership Away From Him

This week is bad and this world is increasingly bad, but two spiteful little delights salve our wounds today: Donald Trump is visibly frightened and miserable, and Chris Christie is continuing to be savagely bullied by him, because that is a fitting reward for a man who sucks up to a maniac.

In today’s humiliation, Trump has reportedly taken leadership of his White House transition team away from Christie and given it to Vice President-elect Mike Pence. The New York Times got that info from several unnamed sources “close to” the transition team:

The president-elect told advisers he wanted to tap Mr. Pence’s Washington experience and contacts to help move the process along, according to people familiar with the discussions. An executive committee, which will include members of Congress, will advise Mr. Pence as the process moves forward.

Christie will reportedly continue on as a vice chair, along with Rudy Giuliani and Michael T. Flynn, a retired lieutenant general. Who knows what important work he’ll do in that role? Be ordered to pick up McDonald’s for the rest of the team, perhaps?

Meanwhile, back at home in New Jersey where everyone hates him, Democrats are calling on Christie to be impeached after two of his top allies were found guilty in the Bridgegate trial, which multiple witnesses testified he definitely, definitely knew about. (Christie denies that.) It’s hard having no real friends, but sometimes you really earn it.

However, let’s not celebrate for even a moment, because here is Trump’s new transition team:

Ben Carson, Newt Gingrich, the Breitbart guy, several members of his own family, the man who funded a devastating secret war against our former parent company and our fellow writers, Florida AG Pam Bondi, who’s had to deny an extremely sketchy-looking quid pro quo situation with Trump and and an aborted Trump University investigation in her state, and several of the nuttiest people in Congress. Let your nausea re-commence.

The Real Unsharer

Wait, didn’t he say that Washington insiders were the worst and we should elect him because he was an outsider?
