While it may be unclear if they were having a blast at the time of these photographs, we can surmise with relative certainty that Charli XCX and Tori Amos, pop stars on opposite poles, are at least enjoying their outfits. We certainly are.
It’s Couture week in Paris, so after Viktor & Rolf’s art opening, the design house held a party to celebrate the tenth year of its wildly popular perfume Flowerbomb, which brightened everyone’s day by its very jasmine-rose-orchid-freesia-patchouli nature. As the reliably absurd fragrance copy describes it,
“This floral explosion releases a profusion of flowers that has the power to make everything seem more positive. Magically evocative notes immediately awaken your deepest senses, giving you the impression of living life in your own secret garden, away from reality.”
It’s so true—Charli really did look like she was living in her own secret garden, if the garden was her dress and her secret was the way she somehow made flip-flops look cool. And Tori’s entire pajama party look was its own profusion of positivity, color-splashed boudoir overcoat included.
If you needed it spelled out, though, here is photographer Ellen von Unwerth at the same party, verily exhibiting her enthusiasm.
Here is a way more celebratory view of Charli’s dress (Hashtag: #Cantsitdown)
And a closer look at Tori’s glasses, which I WOULD LIKE TO BUY OFF HER FACE.
Everyone loves Paris!
