Cardi B Claims Racist Employees Kicked Her Out of an Albany Hotel For No Good Reason

Rapper and Winter Boo expert Cardi B claims she was booted from a Hilton in Albany, NY because its staff members are racists. In a lengthy (and now-deleted) Instagram video, Cardi (who was in the area for a show) explains that she and her crew were kicked out of the hotel early Sunday morning after hotel staff noticed the smell of weed on her floor. But the problem with that, Cardi claims, is that she and her team members don’t smoke.

“Albany is known for being racist,” Cardi says at the beginning of the video. “And I really experienced that shit yesterday.” She claims that “everybody on the floor” apart from her group was “caucasian,” and that the staff decided her group was responsible for the weed smell despite not searching the room or finding evidence of any kind. “Now if you know me, I don’t even talk about smoking weed,” she says at one point. “Everybody knows I do not smoke weed. I get very paranoid...We could all get drug tests. Nobody smokes.”

At the end of the video, Cardi says:

“And then they told us that earlier there was some rap artist that was smoking weed and they got kicked out too. We’re not associated with them! I just can’t. Really. I really can’t.”

Per TMZ:

The PIO says no evidence pointed to the weed coming from anyone in Cardi’s camp, but they left regardless. That’s when Cardi was woken up and asked to join them, causing her [to call the staff ‘racist motherfuckers’] in the lobby. We’re told no one was arrested, and that Albany PD denies allegations of racism.

Kathy Griffin has reportedly cut all ties with former lawyer Lisa Bloom (the attorney who represented her during the whole Trump beheading scandal from earlier this year) and refuses to return any of her calls.

Bloom responded to Griffin’s claims that she was, I don’t know, calling her on the phone too much, by accusing Griffin of going way off script during her disastrous press conference back in June.

Lisa Bloom is fucked. She’s going to spend the rest of her career/life dealing with the fallout from Harvey, and it’s a shame because she has a point: she was a well-respected women’s rights attorney. Now she is a...well, she’s an attorney with name recognition.

I’m interested to see how everything plays out for her. Where will she be in a year or ten? If we are supposed to forgive decades of shitty behavior after half baked apologies from people who are “trying to change”, are we also supposed to look past all the good she has legitimately done, taking her recent terrible decision to be a reflection of who she is now?

Sorry, this ended up being more musing than comment. It’s just a big cognitive dissonance for me, and with everything else going on in the world, I haven’t had time to noodle this very much.
