Brooklyn Children's Center Warns Parents: Lindsay Lohan Is Coming

As Lindsay Lohan arrives in Brooklyn to complete her court-ordered community service, parents whose children attend the Duffield Children’s Center in Ft. Greene have received letters from administrators, warning them that the actress will be in the building and possibly working with their kids.

“As some of you may know,” writes Ivonne Lopez, Director of Early Childhood Education, “actress Lindsay Lohan performed community service hours at Duffield Children’s Center in August 2014. Her involvement with BCS was chronicled during an OWN Network television special. Shortly after the OWN special aired, Ms. Lohan continued her volunteer work with us, spending time helping with administrative and clerical duties.”

The letter, obtained by Page Six, continues:

“Ms. Lohan has asked to return to complete her community services and may be placed in a classroom with your child. As with any volunteer, this would be under constant supervision from the classroom teacher and Duffield staff. Please know that all requirements for this volunteer work will be met, prior to her entering the classroom. Furthermore, volunteers are never left alone with children.”

Reactions from parents range from “Just so long as she’s not drunk” to “Good luck with my crazy kid.” Let’s just hope these parents have talked to their children about weather safety, though, because Hurricane Lilo has arrived.

Asked by Variety if Carol—her upcoming movie about a woman who begins a relationship with a department store clerk (Rooney Mara)—is her first “turn as a lesbian,” Cate Blanchett confirmed that she’s previously dated women both onscreen and off and no, like most celebrities these days, she refuses to label herself.

From the interview:

Pressed for details about whether she’s had past relationships with women, she responds: “Yes. Many times,” but doesn’t elaborate. Like Carol, who never “comes out” as a lesbian, Blanchett doesn’t necessarily rely on labels for sexual orientation. “I never thought about it,” she says of how she envisioned the character. “I don’t think Carol thought about it.”

Speaking of previous relationships, let’s talk about Tom Hardy’s…WITH CRACK. Talking to Essentials about his early days as a drug addict, my boyf talked about a time when “[he] would have sold [his] mother for a rock of crack.”

“I was a shameful suburban statistic,” he said. “I was told very clearly, ‘You go down that road, Tom, you won’t come back. That’s it. All you need to know.’”

But thankfully, Tom was able to get clean and find success in his chosen profession of acting. “People didn’t sit up and take any notice of me until I started putting on weight, kicking people and being aggressive…I’m not a fighter. I’m a petite little bourgeois boy from London.”

I would say this was shocking news, but Tom already told me all of this over the daily breakfasts that he makes me. [NYDN]
