Black Flag Co-Founder Accused of Child Abuse

Greg Ginn, guitarist and co-founder of seminal hardcore band Black Flag, has been accused by his ex-wife of child abuse, including food deprivation, threats of physical violence, and sexual harassment, according to an affidavit signed October 10.

As first reported by Consequence of Sound, Marina Ginn filed an “Emergency Motion to Modify the Parent-Child Relationship” in a Williamson County, Texas, court, citing specific instances of physical and emotional abuse of their daughters, ages 10 and 7. According to the affidavit, the youngest was hospitalized October 7 for stress and anxiety, and has previously suffered seizure, chest pains, and difficulty breathing. Marina Ginn accuses Greg Ginn of using drugs and alcohol, exposing their daughters to violent altercations, and practicing music until 2 AM. The affidavit also states that Ginn “threatened to throw all their toys in the trash if they did not clean the entire building by 1 AM” and that they are ‘sometimes locked in a room alone with no contact with the outside world through cell phone or emails.'”

The rest of the affidavit is equally horrific, including the details of Ginn’s alleged sexual harassment. Read it if you dare.

Ginn has been involved with Black Flag off and on roughly since 1976. Their last album, What The…, was released in 2013. In 2012, he played at Coachella with his band The Royal We, pictured above.
