Yesterday, Jovan Belcher, a fourth-year linebacker for the Chiefs, shot his girlfriend, Kasandra Perkins, before killing himself. Today, the team observed a moment of silence before their game against the Carolina Panthers for victims of domestic violence. According the Guardian, there was no mention of Belcher's name before the moment.
Without blaming the victim, isn't it possible that brain trauma led him to this?
(I am in NO WAY saying it's his girlfriend fault)
It seems to me the NFL has a lot to gain from the blame being deflected from the brutal sport that turns the players' brains to mush.
