Beautiful Meow-sic: Lil BUB Is Releasing a Full-Length Album

If you’ve been wondering what Lil BUB has been up to, she definitely hasn’t been chilling by the pool, rolling joints filled with catnip. Your favorite celebrity cat has been hard at work on a full-length music album called Science & Magic: A Soundtrack to the Universe.

According to Pitchfork, a quarter of the album’s profits will go to BUB’s fund for the ASPCA, which benefits special needs pets. Even though this is her first album, Bub is no newbie when it comes to the music scene. She recently appeared on Run the Jewels’ remix album Meow the Jewels and collaborated with Andrew W.K. on the music video “Star Party Animal.”

“It may seem impossible that a cat could compose an entire album of carefully crafted instrumental music, but Bub is not simply ‘a cat,’” said Andrew W.K. in a press statement. “She came from the deep unknown, on an intergalactic mission to help the people and animals of earth with her magic, talents, and otherworldly wisdom.” I surely do not question this, speaking as someone who owns Miss Piggy’s Aerobique Exercise album.

Science & Magic: A Soundtrack to the Universe will be released on December 4, but you can pre-order the album now on Joyful Noise. Unfortunately, the limited edition vinyl signed by BUB appears to be sold out. Here’s a behind-the-scenes vid of BUB’s musical project:
