While arriving at her Manhattan apartment Thursday, model Gigi Hadid was spotted carrying an iPhone in a case that reads, “Social Media seriously harms your mental health.” As someone who compulsively checks their social media accounts several times an hour and who frequently becomes dangerously obsessed with the accounts of others, I must say: that case ain’t wrong.

Perhaps I should put a similar case—or sticker, whatever it is—on my own phone as a gentle way of reminding me that I don’t have to send that tweet, post that photo, share my location with friends, comment on that story, or watch the Instagram stories of people who bother me and screengrab them for future reference. Perhaps I should just listen to Gigi Hadid and stay off the platforms that are affecting my health and productivity. Perhaps I should just live as she does all the time.

Ugh. I feel better. Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go break up with my boyfriend Zayn Malik.

Side Note: Based on the camera shape and color, Hadid appears to be carrying an iPhone 7 (PRODUCT)RED™ Edition, which both surprises and delights me. Look at sensible old Gigi! She doesn’t need to have the latest and greatest! Good for her. And good for her case!

In the era of trump and all the fuckery he brings, i’ve been using social media a lot less. I’m not looking at twitter, and barely using FB. I was having panic attacks about Nazis thanks to actual Nazis on twitter and current events. I’ve had some real emotion reckoning about old friends who think everything trump tries to do and says, is fine. It’s not healthy for me at all. I also don’t watch cable news. I selectively read it.

Now i just play candy crush, which Iprobably have a bit of an addiction to. Lately it’s changed its little opening tag line, to things like “chill and unwind”. They have me figured out, but it’s better than twitter.
