Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story: Cult made the correct decision to edit out a violent mass shooting scene that was supposed to feature heavily in the sixth episode of the show, TMZ reports.
FX released a statement saying that in light of the tragedy in Las Vegas, it has “chosen to make substantial edits to the opening scene of tomorrow night’s episode. This opening, which was filmed two months ago and which portrays an occurrence of gun violence that has sadly become all too common in our country, contains a sequence that some viewers might find traumatic.”
As TMZ first reported, this Tuesday’s episode featured a mass shooting scene featuring blue-haired, bestubbled scumbag Kai (Evan Peterson) and Ally (Sarah Peterson.) I understand that some people are still watching this program; to respect the sanctity of a pure viewing experience, you can find out who was doing the shooting at TMZ.
I’m not sure why it’d be super important to anyone to watch a fictionalized representation of increasingly-commonplace violence, but you know what, be my guest: If you’re really dedicated to seeing the show as its auteur intended, the original episode with the shooting scene included will be available on VOD.
