The new Vogue documentary The First Monday in May has premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, and Page Six has reported CollegeHumor founder Ricky van Veen to be the mystery Met Ball guest who irked La Wintour in the film’s trailer.

“I thought he wasn’t coming,” Wintour says with disdain in the documentary, looking at the unspecified name of a Met Ball guest. “I know, but then he decided to come,” Vogue special projects director Sylvia Durrett responds.

“Okay, can he not be on his cell phone the entire time, then?”

According to Page Six, the name in question is blurred out in the film, but “multiple sources” have confirmed it to be Van Veen. Knowing next to nothing about Ricky Van Veen except the website he founded, this seems perfectly likely to me. However, “Ricky was a perfect guest, and we look forward to welcoming him back this year,” a Vogue spokesperson told Page Six.
