Adele is forbidden from tweeting on her own, thanks to a history of drunk tweets.
During her BBC special that airs this month, an audience member asked Adele whether it’s true that she doesn’t post her own tweets.
Adele confirmed that, yes, her lush habits made her people paranoid about what she might say on Twitter and thus her tweeting privileges were revoked. Like many other famous people, she now dictates her tweets.
Adele seems OK with it. She told BBC:
“I’m not a drinker any more, but when Twitter first came out I was drunk tweeting and nearly put my foot in it quite a few times. So my management decided that you have to go through two people and then it has to be signed off by someone. But they’re all my tweets. No one writes my tweets. They just post them for me. So yeah, that’s very, very true.”
Unfortunately, it appears that her drunk tweets have been scrubbed from her account, even dating back to 2010. Unless this counts:
Now, it’s mostly drab promotional content and tweets about things like meeting David Blaine.
