ABC Picks Up Soapy 'Upstairs/Downstairs' Drama From David O. Russell

Well, this is interesting. The director best known for perming Bradley Cooper’s hair is making a television show. ABC has ordered 13 episodes of an untitled drama from David O. Russell and the writer of Erin Brockovich, Susannah Grant.

Little is known about the details of the project, but Deadline reports that it’s “an upstairs/downstairs soap set at a private country club.” So will it look like Mistresses? Or Dirty Sexy Money? Or Revenge? Or Desperate Housewives? Or Big Shots? Or will it be more in keeping with The Good Wife or Hart of Dixie or perhaps even NCIS because it’s being produced by CBS Studios?
