A Message From Cardi B's Former History Teacher

Latest

Cardi B is one of our country’s most trustworthy political commentators, but since in the Year 2019 we still question whether women can dress sexy and comprehend the ways a pointless government shutdown negatively affects federal workers, she has netted a few noteworthy detractors. To those detractors, her former A.P. U.S. History teacher has the following to say: “STFU and sit down.”

On Thursday, Joan Hill, a history teacher at Cardi B’s alma mater, the Renaissance High School for Musical Theater and the Arts in the Bronx, posted a message on her Facebook page coming for folks who wanted Cardi to step off of politics:

Cardi B has talked frequently about her love of history. She spoke at length to GQ last year about her fascination with Franklin Delano Roosevelt and the New Deal; she has mentioned several times that she had aspirations to be a history teacher; and in an Instagram Live session last month, she discussed taking Advanced Placement history and politics classes in high school and noted that she spends much of her free time reading up on world political history. “I went to college for this shit,” she said. “It really gets me upset when people be like, oh, you’re dumb. I’m not dumb at this shit!”

You can, in fact, frequently say “shit” and “fuck” and harbor a genuine interest and in-depth knowledge of politics. James Carville has been on TV many times. But if, for some truly terrible reason you should take the time to self-investigate, you don’t believe her, do believe Hill, whom Cardi visited last year when she stopped by her old high school to talk to students.

“I know that she’s strict, but every single day until this day of my life, Ms. Hill was always in my head,” Cardi said, according to CBS (the station’s Facebook page has some very touching video).

As always, don’t fuck with Cardi B.
